These was captured on cassette recorder in Apartment Zero early in the summer of 1993. This was the very first time Mike played ‘Don’t Bury Me’ for me, and it may be the first ever recording of it, I don’t know. You can hear me trying not to crack up in the background.
The context of Fight for Beer was that the Iraq War was happening and the whole protest over “fighting for oil” was in the news a lot. Again this may be the first recordings of these songs. – John
